Wait for the tourist buses to leave to see the Sri Mariamamn Temple in all its glory. This is the oldest Hindu temple in Singapore, having been built in 1843. It's also the most photographed, and you only have to look at its beautiful entrance tower (gopuram) to understand why. Sadly, tourists outnumber worshippers these days.
