Manila to Vigan - How long is the journey

So we're planning on seeing the old houses in Vigan and were wondering how long the bus journey will really take. In the other forum, they said it will take 11 hours on a regular bus. Is this true? Is there a faster option? - Sandy W. - Guest

Manila Vigan How long journey
11 hours on a regular bus might be a rare case (the reviewer must've been stuck in really bad traffic somewhere along the way, although travel time really varies wildly depending on road conditions) On average, land travel through the 408-kilometer stretch between Manila and the Heritage City of Vigan is a comfortable 8 hour drive/ride along scenic Manila to Ilocos Highway.

A faster route would be to take a domestic flight from Manila to Laoag City (Ilocos Norte), which is about an hour and a half ride to Vigan via bus or arranged vehicle.

Several bus companies ply the Manila to Vigan route, including Partas Bus, Aniceto Bus, Viron Transit, and Dominion Bus, many of which offer buses with good facilities (toilets, etc).

Vigan is a real promise, throwing visitors back to the Spanish colonial times in the Philippines. (Must Visit: the Mestizo District, with its ancestral houses).
