Is Singapore safe for women travelers?

I will be in Singapore on a business trip for a week and was wondering if I will have any problems walking around at night, alone. Thanks. I appreciate any tips. - Jenny - Guest

Singapore is about the safest place to travel in the world, even for solo women travelers. Whether it is your first time to visit alone or are traveling with a group, you can very safely walk around and sightsee all you want. Just make sure you dress appropriately all the time.

But just like any place else in the world, make sure you practice caution and responsibility. Generally, SG is a safe place where you don't see many crimes (if at all) happening street-side. Our advice: keep family contact numbers and the police hotline (999) with you at all times so you can communicate instantly should anything go wrong. Stay away from places like Geylang after dark and stay within Orchard Road. You'd be perfectly fine exploring the city by yourself!
