English Menu: Tim Ho Wan Hong Kong (with Prices)

The thrill of ordering from the menu of the Michelin-star Tim Ho Wan is not knowing exactly what you’re going to get. Though their menu provides crude English translations, it lacks images and remains mysterious. It’s a primitive and thoroughly practical piece of paper listing all the 29 items they serve. You mark those you want to order and—once you have a table after an hour of waiting in line—give it to the harried server who speaks little English. She rushes off to the kitchen with your paper, and you are left hoping for the best.

Don’t worry. Everything on the Tim Ho Wan menu is fantastic. Every meal is guaranteed a happy ending—unless you’re allergic to pig liver, chicken feet, or monosodium glutamate (in which case you should never ever go to Asia).

Want to lessen the shock factor and have a look at the menu before you line up for the unknown? Here you go. I even included some pictures to help you decide if you want to try this so-called cheapest Michelin restaurant in the world.
